best tarte products to buy

Tarte Cosmetics has been a force in the beauty industry and for good reason. In 1999, CEO and Founder Maureen Kelly, took the idea of developing a makeup line with “good-for-you” ingredients and built a massive beauty empire.

Tarte’s high-performing naturals include ingredients that you can actually pronounce (think maracuja, prickly pear, snow mushroom, avocado) and are safe to apply to the skin.

I’ve been using Tarte cosmetics for years and there are some products I purchase over and over again as well as some new items I use daily.

Here are the best Tarte makeup products I’ve loved lately.

TARTE COSMETICS REVIEW

BEST TARTE PRODUCTS

TARTE MARACUJA JUICY LIP

The Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm is one of Tarte’s most loved products and for good reason. It is so hydrating and gives just the right amount of tint.

It also leaves my lips feeling so soft. The maracuja oil is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin C for firmer, brighter lips.

If you are new to Tarte and looking for a product to start with, I would recommend the Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm.

There are 16 shades available.

TARTE TARTLETTE TUBING MASCARA

The first Tarte mascara I ever used was the Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. It’s such a great everyday mascara. It’s great for lengthening and separating, but if you want thicker-looking lashes the Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara is it.

This tubing mascara uses micro-tubing technology. Tarte explains it is like a cashmere wrap for your lashes! It wraps each lash in lengthening “tubes” instead of weighing them down with layers of pigment.

I like how it instantly wakes up my eyes and defines them. I also appreciate that the tubing technology keeps the mascara from flaking.

The only thing to get used to is removal. Unlike traditional mascara, tubing mascara doesn’t require any makeup remover; simply saturate a cotton pad with warm water and hold it against your lashes for 30 seconds, then gently wipe the mascara off your lashes.

TARTE EYESHADOW PALETTE

I have been using the Tartlette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette for years. I love the colors and appreciate the matte and shimmer shades.

It allows for multiple makeup looks whether you’re headed to the office or out on the town for a date night.

I recently switched it up to the Clay Play Eye & Cheek Palette Vol. II for its versatility. It includes 9 neutral shades that I love similar to those in my Tartelette in Bloom palette. It also includes 3 face powders (blush, bronzer, and highlighter) for an all-in-one makeup palette.

This palette is great for those who travel and don’t want to carry a ton of products. It’s such a convenient palette.

TARTE TIMELESS SMOOTHING PRIMER

I believe this is such an underrated Tarte product. The Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer is a putty that you can press onto your skin to conceal pores and fine lines instantly.

I find that it creates a more even canvas for my foundation and does such a great job as a primer.

TARTE SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER

The award-winning Tarte shape tape concealer is a fan favorite, but I was not too happy with the formula. It was a little drying for my under-eye area and I didn’t get the hype.

I’ve also tried the Creaseless Concealer and it did not live up to the name. It was the most drying and creased on my under-eye area.

However, even after the lackluster experience with shape tape, I purchased the Shape Tape Radiant Concealer. I was surprised with how hydrating and creamy it was. It also has a little shimmer to instantly wake up the face and make you look more alert.

It is available in 37 shades.

TARTE DOUBLE TAKE EYELINER

This a newer addition to my makeup collection but it’s such a good one. This dual-ended eyeliner has liquid & gel formulas. I use the gel formula for everyday use as it is easier to work with.

This eyeliner is so good, that I have already repurchased it. You can get it in black or brown.

TARTE BLUSH TAPE IN PINK

I was excited to try out the Tarte Blush Tape because it was an item that was always sold out. But now I’m starting to believe Tarte just delivered some top-notch social media marketing.

Unfortunately, it’s one of the few Tarte products that I was not blown away with. The pigment was not as intense as I would believe a liquid blush should be.

It does have some shimmer and looks great on top of other blush. I like my Charlotte Tilbury blush topped with this liquid blush for some highlights. It does blend easily but did not do what I expected it to do.

There are 4 blush tape shades to choose from.

TARTE BEST SELLERS

Here’s a list of the best-selling Tarte products.

TARTE FAQs

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY SHAPE TAPE?

The best way to apply shape tape is by dabbing 1-2 small dots in the desired area. Next, bounce a damp sponge or brush quickly after the product hits the skin. Blend until settled. You can add more products if desired and follow the same steps.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE TARTE TUBING MASCARA?

To remove Tarte Tubing Mascara you can apply micellar water or makeup remover to a cotton pad and gently massage the lashes to dissolve the formula.

You could also remove tubing mascara with warm water and gently massage the lashes. You will notice the mascara start to peel off.
