Your shoe choices are definitely style items that can make or break an outfit so it’s crucial that I, as your fashion BFF, share with you some of the styles that will best compliment your outfits.
BEST FALL BOOT TRENDS OF 2022
To begin, some trends you may notice are continuous to those we’ve seen in the past. Maybe with a bit of a variation, but the same concept. It’s fun to see designers tweak and alter past trends to bring them more to the current year.
COMBAT & LACE-UP BOOTS
One of my favorite styles is a classic combat boot. However, there is a thin line between on-trend and looking like you’re reporting for active duty training. To keep the style civilian-appropriate, I suggest looking for boots that have a thinner sole.
The big, chunky lug sole can be a bit rough and bulky. Pair your combat boots with a slip dress for a tough girl vibe or with leggings to keep the lool rocker chic.
We can go both ways on this cowboy boot trend — short and tall. The mid-calf western boot is great for pairing with skirts and slimmer denim. I like the taller western boot with midi dresses with a high thigh slit or even paired with a mini skirt or sweater dress.
I’ll be honest, probably my least favorite trend of the fall season. Only because I feel it is the MOST trendy and therefore may not be here for long. One thing about a good pair of boots is that they can be expensive — upwards of $200 for a quality pair. That is why it’s a bit hard for me to jump on this trend.

Platform boots can be a bit tricky to pull off if you’re more of a minimal style lover. It’s also a bit of a 1970s throwback that dominated the era. You may also remember the resurgence of platform boots thanks to one Ginger Spice from the 90s female pop group the Spice Girls.
(FAUX) SNAKESKIN BOOTS
I love a good faux snake print boot to spice it up in the fall. This statement boot can easily transform a neutral or monochromatic fall outfit into a head-turning style flex. The trend can be seen in all forms from knee-high to ankle boots — I prefer a slightly taller ankle boot myself.
