Falling leaves, the start of football season and pumpkin spice lattes — It’s almost Fall!! Late August and early September can be a tricky time of year for your wardrobe. The days may still be warm but the nights will soon be little cooler and you’re stuck thinking shorts or over-the-knee boots? We’ll for us Houstonians, we’ll be keeping the scarves in the closet for now but what we need are transitional pieces. Clothing that is light but still able to keep you warm during those longer Autumn nights. I am absolutely loving a tall boot with a flowy dress and cardigans!! Give me all the cardigans! I am cold natured so I am always needing a little more coverage than most. Another piece that I am looking forward to wearing are peep-toe booties. A good trouser is always classy. Just take a look at this side striped cigarette pant from Missguided. Another piece that is great this Fall is a flared jean, but don’t put those skinny jeans away just yet. You’re going to need them when you whip out the oh-so-sexy tall boot.
I also like styling my fall outfits with layers. This makes it easy to whip out a cardigan or jacket when the temperature suddenly drops. The cami underneath this jacket is lightweight and spaghetti strapped so there is not much underneath the jacket keeping me a bit cooler than if I had put a sleeved top underneath. I also love these booties. Super classic and can be worn with so many styles.
This is probably one of the comfiest outfits for me. Again, lightweight bralette underneath and an oversized, cozy sweater on top. I paired this with a simple, black jean with frayed hem detail and some gingham heels. Super sweet date-night outfit.
This look is probably one of my favorites because of this long cardigan. I got this one last year and fell in love with the balloon sleeves. Not to mention it is super soft! This cardi is no longer available but I was able to find a couple that would also look great with this outfit. I kept the rest of the look pretty simple. The peplum blouse underneath is lightweight and almost 3/4 sleeved. I paired it with some high-waisted distressed jeans and a nude heel.
I hope you were able to get some Fall wardrobe inspirations here and can incorporate some of these pieces in your closet. If you do, please send me a pic! I would love to see them.
Take care!
