I love this time of year; it’s a time when I can finally wear all my faux leather outfits without sweating like a hog. I’m so happy with this Topshop faux leather shirt dress and can’t wait to share how to style it.
I snagged this gorgeous dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year. There are a ton of additional faux leather dresses, including shirts, skirts, and jackets during this year’s sale.
It was such a good buy, and one of the first items I added to my favorites. The puff sleeves and mini length give this dress a unique look. I love the fit and the material is perfect for fall.

Although the sleeves are a bit larger, they’re not too overbearing. The bodycon fit also helps to keep this dress from looking too frumpy even for petite girls.
Because the sleeves are the center of attention, you won’t need much attention up top, so a nice pair of studs, maybe a polished pony, will create a nice, polished look.
Also, this dress hits mid-thigh so that gives you plenty of room to play it up with your shoes.

I wanted to style this faux leather dress two ways because we’re kind of in that awkward season between summer and fall where some days it’s warm and some days may be cooler.

How To Style a Faux Leather Dress for Warmer Weather
In the first look, I paired a shirt dress (similar) with snake-print sandals. This is the perfect transition look for fall. I loved how both fabrics complemented each other and gave this look a feminine rocker chic style.
You could also add a bit of color to the look by playing up your bag. To make it fall-inspired, think of colors like burgundy, taupe, or even cream.

On the second look, I took it all the way to London town. I just love how this hat plays up the look — such a fun hat. I grabbed both the boots (similar style here) and the hat from the Nordstrom sale this year.

The boots are also from Topshop and I went gah gah over them as soon as I saw them. I’ve been looking for combat-style boots since last year. I bought and returned about 3 pairs so far. I wear size 10 (they grew from 8.5 after I had my kids) so big, clunky shoes DO NOT look good — to me.
These had the perfect heel and sole. I also love the patent leather material and the buckle detail is so darling yet edgy.

The hat is from Brixton and I just love the fisherman cap style. It’s such a unique style and I love that this hat actually fits my head!
I absolutely loved styling this Topshop dress and can’t wait to wear it again when the temperature drops. In the meantime, make sure to check out my fall boutique for more fall-inspired items you’ll love.
