Jackets, pants and blazers — faux-leather looks good in just about any type of clothing and this faux-leather skirt is no exception. Interested in learning how to style it? I got you!
I was recently on the hunt for some business casual items to go along with my new position at work. I’m transitioning from wearing a uniform and so it was time for some wardrobe updates.
While perusing the aisles at Target, I came across this gorgeous faux-leather skirt and I just had to have it.
**BTW I am so loving Target right now! Their fashion lines are amazing, on trend and the best part is that they’re affordable!!
It’s a-line and has a slit up front which gave it an edgy feel. The soft material wasn’t too heavy and the cut and length was appropriate to wear to the office.
I also like the versatility of a faux-leather skirt; there’s so many ways to style it and I can’t wait to show you how.
Faux-Leather Skirt Styled 3 Ways
Style #1: Graphic Tee
To dress the skirt down, I paired it with a faded, throwback graphic tee. The playfulness of the top along with the worn-out material gave this look a laid-back, running-errands-on-the-weekend vibe. I accessorized with a simple, black purse and studded, neutral-colored slides.

Style #2: Chambray Button-Down
This is my favorite of the three looks, mainly because it just looks so chic. The mix in materials — denim & leather — really gives this outfit an edge. I left the last two snaps on the shirt undone to allow me to tie the hem . It gives it a cute detail while also creating shape. It brings the eyes towards the center while your shoulders and the A-line cut create balance and an hourglass silhouette. I also paired this look with snake-print slides with gold hardware detail. These slides elevate the look to a more elegant vibe but its still comfortable and functional.

Style #3: Oversized Knit Sweater
My last look is pairing this faux-leather skirt with an chunky knit sweater. This one was little tricky because of the volume in both the top and bottom. Because the sweater is boxy, I decided to tuck it into the skirt.
This allows you to create shape so you don’t look like the clothes just swallowed you up. I paired it with similar heel that I received from 1.State .

So there you have it ladies…One faux-leather skirt, three different looks. I feel like there’s a million other ways to style this very versatile skirt.
You can definitely transition this skirt straight into cooler weather with some booties and coat. For other transitional fashion inspo, make sure you check out this post.
And I’ll leave you with this picture that I thought was just so hilarious and gives you a little behind the scenes look at what goes into creating these shots.
My husband is my photographer and I’m so thankful for his help! As busy as he is, he’ll still take time to go with me to a location to take my pictures (because who wants mirror selfie all the time, amiright?)
And as usual, we have our two girls in tow. The girls kept busy with a ball while mom and dad worked and in the picture below, Ava is upset that Olivia wouldn’t kick it to her. Love my little family for being so supportive (and patient) while momma does what she loves.

Loving the 2nd way you styled it. So fun! Such a great piece to have in your closet for fall.
