I’m so excited to share with you my recent experience with Hydrafacial procedure. Let’s face it, any facial is a good facial in my book. But the Hydrafacial is a notch higher on my facial meter for sure!
I love getting the procedure done when I feel my pores are just so congested. It’s been a good couple of years since my last facial and I was definitely overdue. But let’s face it, some facial are not cheap.

I went to The Woodhouse in Houston to get my facial. My first experience there was so good, that I decided to go back. The Hydrafacial starts around $185 with additional fees for added enhancements. I paid around $25 for a Vitamin C enhancement.
Benefits of a Hydrafacial
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
- Increase firmness
- Evens tone, texture, and brown spots
- Reduces enlarged pores
- Deep clean, exfoliate, and hydrates
Hydrafacial Procedure + Benefits
The procedure starts with a thorough cleanse. This is followed by a pass over the whole face with the hydra peel tip. It’s essentially a vacuum that extracts dirt, oil, and any other impurities from the skin.
I had a few congested pores on my nose and the esthetician did a great job at getting all the gunk out. It’s a great way to exfoliate the skin and get collagen production revving.
Next she applied my Vitamin C enhancement which felt amazing on my skin. While that settled, she proceeded to do a neck, shoulders, and arm massage. This part was amazing. I’m all about a good massage.
Finally, she wiped off the mask and started using LED light therapy on my skin. She alternated between red light, great for collagen production. And blue light which is great for sebum control and to kill bacteria that may cause acne.
My one hang up about the experience was the esthetician never really spoke. On my first Hydrafacial procedure, I really appreciated the esthetician explaining the procedure, the steps and the products she was using. Of course, I didn’t record it so I was bummed this time when the esthetician never said a word.
As far as results, you will definitely see results after the first round. Especially with clogged pores or black heads. Also, because of the exfoliating, you will see your skin glow! It is recommended you return every 4 weeks for ongoing treatment if you want to see fine lines and scarring diminished.
I definitely need to make this more of priority because I truly love the way my skin feel afterwards. There is no downtime whatsoever. I even went on vacation later that day. I wouldn’t recommend touching your face or applying makeup at least a few hours after the procedure.
And as always, make sure you are applying your sunscreen. Nothing ages you faster than sun exposure. If you have any further questions that I may have missed, please leave them in the comments below.
