I was on the hunt for some new fall denim styles and when I came across these high-rise Levi’s Wedgie Icon Fit Jeans I just had to give them a try. Absolutely loved the denim wash and also liked that they were not my usual skinny jeans style. Here’s my full Levi’s Wedgie Icon review.
I tried out this pair while using Amazon’s Prime Wardrobe service. You can learn more about it here, but essentially it allows you to try out clothes before you buy.
I was a little skeptical because I had purchased some Levi’s before and the sizing was completely off. I’m usually a 27/28, but when I received my last order, I clearly should have sized up a size or two.
If you tend to carry more weight on your lower half, like me, I would suggest sizing up at least 2 sizes. The problem I had with the previous Levi’s that I mentioned is that I ordered TTS. I couldn’t even get the jeans over my hips.

The reason I ordered TTS initially is that my first pair of Levi’s fit amazing, but they did have some stretch. So when ordering from Levi’s brand, make sure you take a look at the material. This is great for determining whether you order true to size or size up.
I order my Wedgie Icon Fit Jeans from Amazon using their Prime Wardrobe service. You can read more about it here! I went ahead and ordered a size 29 hoping they would make it up past my thighs. Because of the minimal stretch, these jeans are not true to size.
When they arrived, I immediately tried them and was amazed at how comfortable they were. And getting them past my thighs was also a good sign.
The Fit & Measurements
These high-waisted jeans hug the waist and hips and are fitted through the knee. They really showcase your curves in the best way possible. It also makes your backside look extra good! While the description mentioned a tapered lower leg, I felt they looked more like a straight leg.
They have a 28″ inseam. The front rise measures10 7/8″ while the back rise measures 14 3/4″. These jeans are made of 99% Cotton and 1% Elastane.
I ordered the color Tango Light which is also waterless. Levi’s is taking the initiative to use less water in the production of their denim which I can totally get behind.
These Levi’s high-rise jeans have a hidden-button fly. I love this color for fall because it pairs so well with white, taupe, beige, and other neutrals I gravitate towards.
Like all my denim, I prefer to wash in cold water and air dry. Coldwater preserves the color and is also better for the planet. These types of low-stretch denim can shrink in high heat and fade dark colors. Frequent washes can break down or warp the fabric altering the integrity of the denim.
Also, high heat can shrink your jeans so try to hang dry when possible. Hang them in a shady spot and turn them inside out. You may also want to wash your denim less than usual. Here’s what Levi’s had to say about washing your denim:
Wash them once every 10 wears at most to maintain fit and prevent too much “rebound.” Or go even longer and wear them until they smell a little funky. Use a damp cloth or old toothbrush with mild soap to remove small stains instead of washing them.
You know the distinct lines and creases you see on your jeans, the ones specific to you? That unique look comes from wearing your jeans for long periods without washing.Levi’s
What’s the difference between the Wedgie Straight and the Wedgie Icon?
The Levi’s wedgie straight and wedgie icons are very similar in that they both hug the hips and waist. This gives it a very flattering fit for most women. The wedgie straight then falls straight down starting at the knee. While the wedgie icon starts to fall straight at the knee but then tapers in.
Both do fit snug at the beginning and will need time to break in. They are very flattering for curvy girls.
6 Ways to Style Levi’s Jeans for Fall
This denim style is perfect for just about any occasion. They look great for casual Fridays at the office and also for a weekend out with the family.
Because they are not distressed or have any holes, they are more appropriate for church or a little more formal setting. The wash is also very flattering and classic. I know wide-leg jeans are in at the moment, but straight-leg denim just creates a very flattering fit for us hippy girls, in my opinion.
