Movies You Should Watch During Coronavirus Self-Isolation

Stuck at home? Same, same! While it may not be an ideal situation and I know many people have been instructed to work from home, chances are you may have some free time on your hands. So why not watch a movie during isolation?

So while spring cleaning and organizing may be the best choice to pass the time, sometimes you just have to unwind . I love watching movies at home and now is the best time to catch up on some great shows and movies.

We haven’t had cable for sometime now, but are subscribed to a few streaming services — who isn’t nowadays? Below are some options. I’ve watched most of these and give my two thumbs up (Siskel and Ebert anyone??) and some are definitely on my must-watch list!

My Top 3 Recommendations

  1. Bombshells — This is the most recent movie that I have watched and it was so jaw-dropping. If you’re a supporter of the #metoo movement, be ready to be floored. It also gives insight into the fall of Roger Ailes, former FOX news CEO and chairman. Not recommended to watch with the kiddos.
  2. Onward — Most recent movie I watched with the kids at the movie theater. I’ll admit, I wasn’t thrilled at the previews but I’m glad we watched it. Such a cute movie, love the message and it was a super fun time!! A bit of a tearjerker at the end, but the girls really enjoyed it.
  3. Knives Out — If you’r into a good mystery, this one is it! A modern-day Clue (you know, the board game??) This who-done-it has so many twists and turn and it has you guessing until the end. Amazing performances and suspense all around.

I know this time of uncertainty is pretty scary, but I hope you are finding ways to occupy yourself and stay positive. If only for a few hours, I hope these movie recommendations suit you well and give you something to get your mind off what is going on (or not going on.)

One thing is for sure, we’re in this together! Don’t fear that you’re missing out on anything because you are not. We’re all at home, passing the time. So pop that popcorn, grab your favorite blanket (and people), and watch a good movie tonight.
