After a week of icky weather, Houston was finally #blessed with some amazing weather this past Sunday. It was incredibly gorgeous and the Munoz clan took full advantage to spend the day outdoors.
McGovern Centennial Gardens
Since the girls were sick and had been cooped up indoors most of the week, I knew some good ‘ole vitamin D would be perfect to get the last of the yucky germs out of their systems.
We headed to Hermann Park because I had always wanted to check out the Houston’s McGovern Centennial Gardens.
During past trips to the zoo or the museum, I had seen people walking around this huge hill and I just had to check it out for myself. The gardens were just beautiful. There was also a large grassy area in front of it were people just lounged — it was so peaceful.
We then made our way to the outdoor theater and eventually stumbled upon the Japanese Garden. Olivia and Ava both had a great time picking up little rocks.
Yes, they picked up rocks instead of marveling at the gorgeous scenery — kids! I’m just happy that they were able to visit this part of the city.
Would you believe that in the past 20+ years that I’ve lived in Houston, I never once set foot in the gardens? There is so much to see and do in the city and we’re making sure that the girls get to experience it all.
They really seemed to enjoy it. Where should we go next?
