Can you believe Mother’s Day is only a few days away??!? It feels like we were just celebrating Valentine’s Day yesterday. No worries! I have gathered up a few Mother’s Day gift ideas that I know any mom will love. Like many moms out there, myself included, this list is pretty unconventional but there’s something for everybody.
My husband and the girls have been getting me charms for a charm bracelet I received during my first Mother’s Day. I love the little tradition of getting me a new charm every year, but there are a few other items on this momma’s wish list.
Personally, one of the best gifts would be a bi-weekly maid visit to take care of all the house chores I don’t want to do. How awesome would that be? Hiring a maid service would be amazing for getting those time-consuming chores done like cleaning baseboards, dusting blinds, and cleaning the appliances. This would make keeping the house tidy a lot easier between visits and allows you to free up some time that you could be spending with your family. Hiring a maid service is not cheap though — a bi-weekly visit can run you close to $100. I found a few around Houston that will do everything from sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, cleaning windows, taking out the trash, and even cleaning toilets but they do run around $100. I’m willing to settle for a one-time visit to be honest. I haven’t used this service, but I hear Care.com can send you recommendations for housekeepers in your area.
Another amazing gift for the special mom in your life would be a spa day. Facials and massages are usually tried and true gifts for moms during Mother’s Day, but I’m talking the whole shebang. A spa day not only includes a facial and massage but may also include an aromatherapy bath, maybe a little bubbly and ends with a mani/pedi. How amazing does that sounds? I found a couple of packages at The Woodhouse Day Spa here in Houston that start at $205. Again, it may be pricey but for us busy moms, it’s so worth it! Trust me, I wouldn’t hate you for spending the money.
My third gift idea would definitely be a subscription to a meal delivery service. There have been many nights where I find myself scrolling through Pinterest to find a recipe for dinner. Most nights I may have to omit a few ingredients because I don’t have them in my pantry — it’s usually a spice — and this can be nerve wracking. Luckily, my family is so sweet and they eat it anyways, but it sure would be nice to have all the ingredients handy.
A meal delivery service would just make life so much simpler. I found one that costs about $100 for a family of four and they send out 4 meals for the week. There are so many options out there that you can find one that fits your family size and meal preference. I think even a couple of weeks would help out because you would be able to keep the recipes and know exactly what ingredients to shop for ahead of time. Or maybe you’re just a better planner than me — I always seem to head into the grocery store completely unprepared.
The Beauty Lover
I’ve also picked out some items that I know that special lady in your life will LOVE! We’ll start with the mom who loves her beauty products and stays looking fabulous year round. I included the Revlon Volumizer because it is a lifesaver. Believe me when I tell you that this hair dryer not only cuts your hair drying time in half but it also doubles as a styler so you can achieve amazing sleek styles in half the time. I reviewed it here if you want to see it for yourself. I also included some cute faux-pearl hair clips because they are all the rage right now and look super cute. The makeup bag is great for traveling and the eyeshadow palette is great for creating multiple looks. I also included the silk sleep mask to protect her eye area while she sleeps — stay back creases & wrinkles, stay back! Also, the Miss Dior perfume is lovely. I got a sample size when my husband bought me J’adore and I really like it. It’s subtle and clean with floral undertones.
The Fitness Mama
If mom is like me then she will absolutely love some new gym clothes. There’s something about new leggings and tops that just make me happy to go to the gym. Not to mention that with all the great styles out there, they can easily double up as athleisure wear for running errands or days at the park with the kids. This Adidas bodycon dress is perfect for when you’re feeling a little sporty spice. I have it myself and it’s great material, let’s you move and looks really cute — pair it with a cute faux-leather baseball cap and oversized bag to complete the look. And how cute are these classic pink Reeboks? I love the color and the satin material really spruce up these shoes and will elevate your sporty style. For the yogi in your life, a new yoga mat is ideal for getting their namaste on. I told myself that I would try out yoga in 2019 and have yet to go to a class so maybe buying a yoga mat will give me that nudge I need to get started. Finally, we CANNOT forget about the all-mighty legging. You can’t go wrong with a good pair of workout leggings and these two-toned leggings are perfect for both weight training and play dates.
The Fashionista
I think the best thing you can do if you’re thinking of getting someone clothes or shoes is get them a gift card so they can pick out what they want — A shopping spree is always a thumbs up. I personally don’t like giving someone gift cards because it seems so impersonal, but I sure do love receiving them (funny how that works.) So if you are like me and rather gift a mom something other than a gift card, I’m sure she will love some of these choices.
First is this belted denim jacket. It’s a great layering piece and I love that it’s different than the usual over-sized denim jacket we see all over town. The belt adds a great detail and is also great for creating shape. Next is this lovely linen dress. Linen is lightweight and airy — perfect for the warmer days ahead. Pair this dress with some cute Tory Burch sandals and you’re good to go. Perfect for the busy mom who craves easy, effortless style. I also love these Burberry sunnies. Josh bought me this pair soon after I gave birth to Ava. I love the slight cat eye and I feel so chic when I wear them. These earring from Baublebar are just so darling. I love the bejeweled seashell paired with the hoops. Baublebar has so many great pieces it’s hard to narrow it down, but I thought these were also perfect for upcoming summer. Lastly is this super cute wicker bucket bag from Tory Burch. Bucket bags are the new trend this season and the green top adds just the right amount of color to make any outfit pop.
Mother’s Day Everyday!
I really hope this guide gives you some ideas of what to gift the special momma in your life. I know the absolute and most desired gift is always time with your loved ones. My family could gift me a macaroni necklace and I’d treasure it forever. Just remember that us moms just want to be loved, and sometimes acknowledged for the hard work we put in. Our families are our most prized possessions and no gift would ever compare to that.
I hope all you mothers, step-mothers, fur-mothers, adoptive-mothers all enjoy your day. Happy Mother’s Day!
XO,
Maria
Such great gift ideas! My mom is impossible to shop for so she just always gets flowers and a card, ha!
