Top 3 Drugstore Mascaras For Longer, Fuller Lashes

When I want to keep my makeup look minimal yet put together and not like I just rolled out of bed — my number 1 must-have is mascara. I can skip the eye shadow, blush and lipstick but adding a few coats of mascara gets me that wide-eyed and bushy-tailed look. I’m sharing my top 3 picks from the drugstore for fuller, voluminous lashes.

When searching for a good mascara, some things that I look for are a sturdy wand with tons of bristles, a formula that will not flake or runoff throughout the day and full-pigmented color that will make my eyes pop.

“My go-to color for mascara is black.. always black!”

With so many mascara options on the market, I gravitate towards drugstore mascara finds for fuller, voluminous lashes because they allow me to try out different formulas and wands without breaking the bank.

And if I just so happen to pick the wrong one, then I don’t feel too bad for spending under $10. The best part, finding that right-on and knowing you only spent $10!!

It creates definition, adds dimension and also looks great with any eye shadow. Black is always in style and defines your eyes. Also, if you decided to omit eyeliner, you can coat your lashes right at the base of the lash a few times to get that defined outline of your eye.

Drugstore Mascara Finds for Fuller Lashes

Milani Highly Rated 10-in-1 Volume Mascara – This find has been my go-to for the past few months. The wand grabs the formula and evenly coats each lash for extreme fullness. I saw thickness with one stroke but a few coats get you major falsies effect.

CoverGirl Exhibitionist Mascara w/ Base Primer– CoverGirl was so gracious to send me a few of their mascaras to try and I had every intention on highlighting LashBlast because I’ve used it before and made my eyelashes look a mile long. After testing out other mascaras from their line — THIS one is it!

The hourglass-shaped bristles hug your eyelashes to really coat on the product. I start with a few coats of the base primer to add fullness and then add on the mascara. The base coats my lashes and plumps up the volume. Definitely a favorite from their line.

Maybelline’s Total Temptation Mascara – I have received so many compliments while wearing this mascara. While it’s not cruelty-free, which is what I gravitate towards, it is a great mascara. The tapered bristles allow you to get close to the outer corners of the eye. You’re left with soft yet voluminous lashes. The formula goes on rather thick, so you don’t need many coats to get dense-looking lashes.

PRO TIP: When applying mascara, I like to wipe any excess formula off the wand before my first coat and pile on the product as needed. It’s easier to re-apply coats to your desire than to wipe of a glop of mascara from your lashes. After, I place the wand right at the lash line and gently shimmy the wand up the length of my lashes. This allow me to get the lashes between bristles for even formula distribution.

I hope this post gives you some insight into what I look for when determining if a mascara selection will be put on my re-stock list. I love mascara for everyday instant glam. Fortunately, I’ve found some great options that keep me from getting lash extensions. But that’s a whole other blog post. For more drugstore makeup finds, check out this post.
